A recent report has lead to major insurance companies in the UK being allowed to deny flood damage coverage to clients after huge flood damage in the South West last year. Flood protection could no longer come as standard in house and contents insurance. Consumer watchdogs are investigating the report as the impact on future victims could lead to significant losses. Some properties that are not protected will become uninsurable if the government doesn’t put in place legislation to control standards of flood protection.
